2011 WPFG Golf Classic A Success
On August 24th, the 2011 World Police & Fire Games Golf Classic was held at the Pelham Bay/Split Rock Golf Course. Firefighters and police officers from New York City, Port Authority of NY & NJ, Nassau County, New York State Court Officers and Corrections Officers and civilians made up the 116 golfers who enjoyed a great day of golf on the Split Rock Course and supported the 2011 World Police & Fire Games.
The 2011 World Police & Fire Games will be held in New York City from August 26 – September 5, 2011. More than 15,000 police officers and firefighters from over 70 countries will compete in 69 sports in the 11-day competition. The New York Games will respectfully coincide with the 10-year anniversary of September 11th. New Yorkers will have the opportunity to remember those lost on that tragic day as well as show gratitude for the international support that flooded into the City during our darkest time.
