SCOTT HEALTH & SAFETY ANNOUNCES MAJOR SPONSORSHIP OF THE 2011 WORLD POLICE & FIRE GAMES

Police and Firefighters from around the globe come to New York City
Aug. 26 – Sept. 5, 2011 for one of the largest sporting events in the world

MONROE, N.C. (Nov. 2, 2010) – Scott Health & Safety, the manufacturer of Scott AIR-PAK® SCBA and many other products that protect and assist thousands of firefighters and police around the world, proudly announced today its founding sponsorship of the 2011 World Police & Fire Games, taking pace in New York City, Aug. 26 – Sept. 5, 2011.  This backing represents the company's continued dedication to those they help protect.

"At Scott Health & Safety, we pride ourselves on our steadfast commitment to safeguard and support firefighters, police and industrial personnel worldwide," said Mike Ryan, General Manager and Vice President of Scott Health & Safety.  "This is why we are excited to be a founding sponsor of the 2011 World Police & Fire Games, allowing us to not only support those competing, but to also celebrate the dedication of every police and firefighter who puts their life on the line every day."

Respectfully coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, the 2011 World Police & Fire Games will integrate the themes of remembrance for those lost in the tragedy and gratitude for the international support that flooded in during the aftermath.  In the days and weeks following the attacks, Scott Health & Safety products, including the Scott AIR-PAK® SCBA, became critically important elements to the search and rescue efforts in both New York and Washington D.C.

"The 2011 World Police & Fire Games will celebrate and honor those first responders who, on a daily basis, dedicate themselves to protecting others," said Jim Carney, president, 2011 World Police & Fire Games. "That's why it is fitting to have the company dedicated to protecting these heroes as a founding sponsor of the Games."

Fifteen-thousand police officers and firefighters from more than 70 countries worldwide are expected to compete in the Games, which are the second largest multi-sport event in the world, surpassed only by the Summer Olympics.  More than 65 sporting events in both women's and men's divisions will be featured at 35 venues throughout New York City's five boroughs.
