News

Entry processing for the 2011 WPFG is scheduled to open in mid-November.  The only exception at this time is Ice Hockey.  Due to the extreme popularity of this sport in the WPFG, a weighted selection process was made in July.  All players in Ice Hockey from 2007 and 2009 were notified beginning in May that teams must declare intent in order to be considered in the selection process.  Among the criteria for initial selection were number of times a team has competed in the WPFG; the number of times the team medaled; and, whether the team has traveled overseas to participate in a WPFG prior.  A number of slots in each division were left available for teams from either New York State or Europe under the Regional Quota system until 1 October.  Some divisions still have slots open for such teams.  Teams that did not receive initial acceptance have been placed on Alternate Lists (wait lists).   Women's Open is still open to all teams, with 11 teams currently declared.  (A maximum of 16 will be accepted.)  For details on availability of a slot for any division of play, please contact Leah Raab at the WPFG Federation office at LRaab@cpaf.org.
